Many different mixers on the market with difference price so it’s too hard to know which is the best stand mixer and pick up one of them, right? each offering its own sets of features, pros and cons, and of course, price. Price is a major difference in this appliance. It is essential that you understand the differences in the models so that you get exactly what you want and need in your stand mixer.
I have tested 9 stand mixers in total and I have used almost (just almost, not all, sorry) mixers below for at least 2 years. The only one I haven’t worked with is Hamilton stand mixer. My friend, Kim, have used it for 3 years and she told me about her feeling about it. Then I write down everything I know about these 5 stand mixers.
So, the question is why you should trust me. And here is my answer, I have worked with stand mixers for ten years of in my kitchen. My first one is Bosch, the gift from my uncle when I was a little girl (now it’s old but still works). I mostly use it to whip coconut whipped cream, mix cookie dough, make frosting, pastries and knead pizza. You know, all I write below is my real kitchen experiences so do believe me 🙂
After reading this article, you will see that choosing the best stand mixer will be not too hard at all 🙂
The number 1 is..

Take your pick of more than 12 awesome colors (amazing) that will brighten your kitchen, and be sure that you add at least a few of the great accessories to the purchase. This KitchenAid 5 quart Artisan mixer may very well be the last mixer that you ever purchase. Not only is it lightweight, it is very powerful, making it easy to prepare the delicious foods that you want with ease. The size is an advantage because it won’t take up a great deal of space on your kitchen counter. The stand mixer easily produces foods without mess, thanks to the perfectly placed shield guard. There is a locking handle on the bowl as well, which adds to the ease of use. Included with the stand mixer are the following accessories:
– Dough Hook
As mentioned, optional accessories are also available so you can do more with your mixer. Optional accessories include a pasta maker, juicer, and ice cream maker.. (you have to buy them separately)
The 59-point planetary mixing action is a great advantage, since each and every mix combined perfectly each and every time. There’s even a slow start feature that further reduces mess. With capabilities of mixing up to nine cups of flour at once, this machine is perfect for those who cook for larger groups. Other awesome features of this stand mixer include:
– Auto-Off Function –I love this. Never again worry about your stand mixer overheating.
– Tilt Head –The tilt head makes it easier to mix your dough
– 5-Quart Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl. Large enough for my family.
– No Plastic –All metal construction ensures that nothing breaks or wears out
– Includes a 1-year limited warranty. Actually I prefer more than 2 years warranty, but 1 year is still fine.
The cost of the machine is just over $300. Well this is not a cheap one but this is money well-spent, I think.

And the next one..
Cuisinart 5 ½ Qt. 12-Speed Stand Mixer SM-55
One of our most recommended stand mixers is the SM-55 model from Cuisinart. This stand mixer is available in your choice of three colors –black, brushed chrome and white.
With 800-watts of power and a bowl capable of holding up to 5 ½ quarts of mixture, this is a stand mixer that is capable of handling the needs of most households.
Features of this stand mixer include 12-speed settings so it is easy to mix anything that you want, whether it is soft or hard. You can squeeze juices for a fresh juice each morning just as easily as you can make a cake from scratch or knead dough for bread. There are three power outlets on the stand mixer, an auto-shutoff feature, tilting head, a 15-minute countdown timer, and so much more.
Included with this mixer are a few accessories that make this stand mixer even easier to use. Simply attach them to the bowl and you have even greater capabilities than before. Those accessories included with the stand mixer include a dough hook, a splashguard, flat mixing paddle and a Chef’s Whisk.
You will appreciate the fact that this stand mixer is easy-to-use and just as easy-to-clean. Some stand mixers on the market are really a pain where the sun doesn’t shine, but there are no worries when this stand mixer is your chosen selection.
On Amazon the mixer has earned a 4.3-star rating out of a possible 5-stars. Most users have offered it a 5-star rating. This should give you great confidence in the product that you are purchasing.
At a price under $300, and with 800 watts, 12 speeds and a 5 1/2 quart capacity bowl, this mixer is a great buy and you will not find the same levels of features in a comparable machine. KitchenAid Professional 5 Plus 5-Quart Stand Mixer
Another quality KitchenAid Product, the KitchenAid Professional 5 Plus 5-quart mixer is available in several unique colors to match any kitchen décor, including red, crystal blue, majestic yellow and white.
The 5 Plus series stand mixer offers a 450-watt motor, as well as 10-speed settings for you to choose from. This is enough power/settings to handle a large amount of dough at one time.
The mixer features a soft-start feature. This feature starts your mixing slowly and gradually increases the speed, which reduces splashes and messes from coming out of the bowl. Auto-shutoff is another feature of this machine.
There is a 5-quart stainless steel bowl on this machine, but there is no handle, which is a bit disappointing for many users. The beater on the machine is one of the most impressive features, however, as it turns clockwise while the shaft turns counterclockwise. This is a unique feature not found on most other stand mixers.
One complaint that a few users have with this machine is that it just suddenly, and without warning, breaks down. For most people that endure this experience, it is after continued use of the machine for an extended period of time. It is important to note this, however, as you do not want to purchase a stand mixer that is going to break down the minute the warranty has expired.
Overall, the KitchenAid Professional 5 Plus is strong, powerful and durable.

The #1 Best Seller in Household Stand Mixers 2014:
KitchenAid Classic Plus 4.5-qt. Stand Mixer
The KitchenAid Classic Plus 4.5-qt. Stand Mixer is another one of the best KitchenAid mixer choices out there, and one of the very best of the year as well. Although this machine isn’t as powerful as some of the others we have mentioned here, KitchenAid Classic Plus 4.5-qt. Stand Mixer is still fairly capable of accommodating many kitchens with ease. If you are someone that has a small family or will not require constant use of a stand mixer, this is a cost-effective machine that is certainly worth your money and time.
The mixer features a 275- watt motor, which is capable of handling up to 7 cups of flour at once. The problem with this, however, is that pushing the machine to meet this demand on a constant basis can result in breakdown of the machine.
There is a 4.5 quart bowl with the stand mixer, and it features 59-point planetary mixing capabilities. This KitchenAid mixer has 10-speed settings. Attachments included with the machine include a dough hook, 6-wire whip and a flat beater. Additional attachments can be purchased if desired.
One of the biggest complaints that users have of this KitchenAid mixer is the durability factor. Although it is not a cheaply made machine, some customers have reported that it is not quite as durable as what they would expect from a KitchenAid product.
Despite a bit of negative feedback, this KitchenAid mixer is large enough to make a difference in the kitchen.
